“The Social Network” Wins LAFCA’s Movie of Year Honors
One of the most well-received movies of recent release, “The Social Network” has been dubbed as the best movie of the year by The Los Angeles Film Critics.
The Jesse Eisenberg/Justin Timberlake movie about Facebook was doted the honor on Sunday (December 12) while beating out the runner-up French film titled “Carlos” – with an official ceremony to take place on January 15th.
In other awards, best actor went to Colin Firth for his role as King George VI in “The King’s Speech” while the best actress award was bestowed upom Kim Hye-ja for the South Korean film “Mother.”
Meanwhile, “The Social Network” also made the just-released list of The American Film Institute’s top 10 features of the year.
Also being named were Black Swan, The Fighter, Inception, The Kids Are All Right, 127 Hours, The Town, Toy Story 3, True Grit, and Winter’s Bone.
