Regis Philbin Announces Retirement Plans
Making for quite the sudden announcement, Regis Philbin has said that he’s retiring from his weekend talk show duties.
The veteran broadcaster broke the news at the beginning of his ABC program “Live With Regis and Kelly” on Tuesday morning (January 18).
Having acted as host for a quarter-century, the 79-year-old shared that he would be stepping down from the show around the end of the summer.
With Kelly Ripa acting as his most-recent co-host, no plans for a replacement have been revealed at the current time.
