Johnny Depp Talks “Rango” Role
Taking his range as an actor to the next level, Johnny Depp stars as the voice of a quirky chameleon in “Rango.”
And the “Tourist” stud says the way they did the flick was unlike most animated films so far- rather than doing each voice individually, the actors all interacted on a soundstage.
“Instead of motion capture, it’s kind of emotion capture, using the actors as a reference for the emotionally animated character. I think it just gives a bunch of grownups an opportunity to be silly.”
Costar Bill Nighy agreed, “You raise your game because you’re working with other people. It’s more of a natural acting experience.”
